Lot 115: Vintage Faux Pearl Chanel Clips

We are accepting congratulations on acquiring the first Chanel jewelry in our collection!

Obtaining anything with the hallmark of this iconic brand is indeed a challenging feat. Chanel stands as one of the most renowned fashion houses, elevating almost all of their items to collector's status.

Various periods in the brand's history captivate the interest of collectors, fashion historians, and dedicated fans: Coco Chanel is the subject of countless lectures and books, with numerous quotes attributed to her, some of which were never actually said by her. Additionally, we find continuous inspiration from the legacy of Karl Lagerfeld, who revitalized the fashion house when he joined in the 80s.

In the spring of 2023, the Costume Institute unveiled a comprehensive exhibition named "Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty." This exhibition fueled even greater interest in the creations of Karl and, at the same time, triggered an increase in prices for vintage items of the brand.

To authenticate our piece, we sought the expertise of a vintage collector and seller. He meticulously examined the pearl, utilizing a magnifying glass to carefully inspect the hallmark.

With our hearts pounding, we awaited his verdict... And hooray! These are indeed genuine Chanel clips. The most remarkable aspect of this discovery is that Princess Diana herself wore the same model of clips in the late 80s and early 90s.
