In the world history, there have been a few Alexanders bearing the title "the Great," and we firmly believe that Alexandre de Paris (1922-2008) deserves a place among them.

Alexandre de Paris (Louis Alexandre Raimon) was a renowned French hairdresser who collaborated with iconic French fashion houses, including Coco Chanel, Yves Saint-Laurent, Hubert de Givenchy, Christian Dior, Karl Lagerfeld, Madame Grès, and more. He is particularly celebrated for his work in creating the iconic hairdo for Elizabeth Taylor in the "Cleopatra" movie.

He designed her coiffures for many movies in which she starred and for her personal events. For the wedding with Richard Burton Alexandre de Paris made the ponytail laced with orange blossom.

In 1957, Alexandre opened his own salon on the Rue du Faubourg Saint Honoré in Paris, and his friend Jean Cocteau designed a distinctive logo for him, referring to the maestro as "le Sphinx de la Coiffure."

In addition to his hairstyling accessories Alexandre de Paris produced the costume jewelry. These faux pearl clips, bearing the recognizable "A" seal, stand as excellent examples of the styles prevalent in the 1980s.

Although Alexandre de Paris passed away in 2008, his legacy lives on through his brand of hair accessories and jewelry, which continue to be crafted in France.

Clips are in great vintage condition.
